The Scratching Post Cat Hospital is a full service veterinary practice devoted exclusively to cats. At the Scratching Post Cat Hospital, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive, quality care for each feline to enhance their well-being and quality of life. We schedule longer appointments which allows our veterinarians to do a thorough exam in a calm, unhurried and compassionate atmosphere. Many of our patients respond to this approach. We encourage all family members to come in with their cats for the examinations and ask questions. It is our goal to educate and involve each client in a lifetime care plan for their cat. This allows a team approach that helps each cat live a better quality life.
We believe in: |
- the best care for your cat.
- humanity & compassion.
- good old fashioned service.
- only quality vaccinations/ tests that are appropriate.
- no rushing; we take the time to address all your concerns.
- lots of love & gentle care for cats !

Our spacious, warm, decidedly homey facility and the distinct lack of the presence of dogs provide a calm and low-stress environment for those of the feline persuasion.
The medical and surgical services we provide are extensive; from routine annual exams and vaccinations to laser surgery, radiology, in-house laboratory, full surgical capabilities, dental x-ray & care, preventative and geriatric care.
House calls are available for a variety of services. Housecalls are best for house-bound clients, clients with multiple cats and sensitive cats. Many cats do extremely well getting their annual exams in the familiar environment of their own home.
If you were a cat, you would want to stay at our state of the art Cat Retreat where an entire level of our facility is devoted to ensuring the comfort and enjoyment of cats. 2 Purrsidential suites, multi-level cat condos with unobstructed view of birdfeeders and a state-of-the-art playroom complete with overhead cat walks, ledges, cat trees and a plethora of toys ensure that your cat won't be cramped in a cold, dark cage during their stay with us. Piggie Piggie, Counter Adornment:
Look ! It's the beauteous Piggie Piggie adorning our counter. Piggie Piggie was from Pennsylvania. She was rescued from an abusive situation. She had 7 healthy kittens before she was spayed and they all grew up to be bigger than she is.
Piggie Piggie never knew where her next meal was coming from and thus, when she was first adopted, she ate and ate and ate that she became as round as she is today. She went from Pixie to Piggie to Mo' Piggy to Piggy Piggy.
Piggie Piggie is a constant fixture at our counter, greeting people and shaking paws. She regularly volunteers to be our model when we demonstrate procedures to clients. On rare occasions, Piggie Piggie has donated blood to cats in dire straits. |
