Dr. Summers, Veterinarian Andrew Summers, DVM:
Dr. Summers is an alumni of Ohio State University Veterinary School, University of Michigan and valedictorian of Springboro High. He externed at the Columbus Zoo during Vet school and practiced at a high traffic feline practice in Connecticut before returning to Ohio. His commitment to uncompromising high quality medicine and a desire to provide a relaxed and home-like environment in which to treat cats, led him to start the Scratching Post Cat Hospital.

Dr. Summers' gentle compassionate nature, along with the Scratching Post's home-like environment, tend to have a calming effect on cats while they're here. Dr. Summers is committed to keeping up to date on the latest medical advances and treatment of cats and logs many hours in that pursuit.

A vegetarian since high school, Dr. Summers loves animals of all kind but feels an affinity for cats. His focus in cats has given him a much better insight into cats' ailments and behavior and kept him up to date with the best feline medicine and technology. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Feline Practitioners and the Miami Valley Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Summers is married with 2 sons. He loves spending time with his family, woodworking and writing computer programs.

Her gentle nature and incredible bond with cats make her a perfect fit for our cat-loving family.

Jannice has an avid interest in natural food and healing. Possessing an incredibly soft heart, Jannice is owned by 13 cats. Yes, that's 1,2,3...... 12, 13. Somewhere at a rest stop on the homeless cat highway, there are directions to Jannice's house.

Piggie Piggie, Counter Weight Piggie Piggie, Counter Adornment:
Look ! It's the beauteous Piggie Piggie adorning our counter. Piggie Piggie was from Pennsylvania. She was rescued from an abusive situation. She had 7 healthy kittens before she was spayed and they all grew up to be bigger than she is.

Piggie Piggie never knew where her next meal was coming from and thus, when she was first adopted, she ate and ate and ate that she became as round as she is today. She went from Pixie to Piggie to Mo' Piggy to Piggy Piggy.

Piggie Piggie is a constant fixture at our counter, greeting people and shaking paws. She regularly volunteers to be our model when we demonstrate procedures to clients. On rare occasions, Piggie Piggie has donated blood to cats in dire straits.

Lenore, Clinic Monster Lenore aka Leni, Retired
Named after Edgar Allan Poe's Lenore, Dr. Summers adopted her from a Humane Society in Michigan at 6 months old. Although she's been through the college years with Dr. Summers, we're still not sure if she's too smart for us or ahem.. otherwise.

Leni's past times include eating and ..eating.

Leni is a BIG Fluffy cat, quite loving and harmless (though she likes to believe otherwise) and so we often indulge her fantasy: 'Grrrrr. Here comes Lenimonster!'

Despite her grouchy-sweet demeanor, Leni has donated blood to cats in need.
